Work Day Volunteer Opportunities
Spend a day (or more) volunteering on Plum Island to help with maintaining the island habitat and buildings. Our boat, The Shoreline leaves from Gills Rock at 9:00am and returns around 2:00pm.

Work may include painting, trail maintenance, general cleanup, light carpentry, etc.
​

You will meet our boat at the Shoreline Hotel's Marina in Gills Rock and enjoy a leisurely cruise to Plum Island with fellow volunteers. We'll work until around noon, give you a chance to eat your lunch, complete your project and explore the island before heading back.

The Friends of Plum & Pilot Islands are a 100% volunteer supported organization. Together we partner with the US Fish & Wildlife Service to meet their goals. We'd love to have you volunteer alongside of us.
Various opportunities are available for you to:

- Volunteer for one of workdays
- Volunteer aboard The Shoreline as a crew member
- Help us in various organizational areas such as historic preservation, marketing, membership, outreach, and social media
- Learn about the history and become a docent at outreach events and site visits
- Write stories for newsletter
